These sociable events are perfect for trying new food and meeting new friends. We supply the main course and ask each attendee to bring a dish and purchase 1 bottle of Chateau MerrillAnne wine. That's it! Then just come and enjoy. Pre registration is required. Contact winery for dates and details. Seating is limited.
These seated, after hours wine tastings offer you the chance to sit down with the winery owner and try both the wines on the current tasting list, and wines that are not currently being tasted. Unlike some wineries, we love when people bring lunch (or dinner). After all, food and wine are meant to be together! So pack a picnic lunch, bring a bunch of friends and get a picnic table in the meadow, a spot on the deck or a table in the tasting room and enjoy yourselves!
It's amazing how well wine and chocolate go together! At any given time we have different variations of our wine and chocolate pairings available. We use only the finest of Belgian chocolate, made exclusively for us. You can add chocolate to your wine tasting or do a stand alone pairing!
Enjoy the challenge of our current jigsaw puzzle. Located in the Rudder room (our lounge room) the purpose built "Jigsaw table" always holds a puzzle in progress. Work on it as long or as little as you want and be sure to sign the puzzle sign-in list so once it is finished we can give everyone credit on social media!
Beside our front door is a small room that few notice, we call it the Raleigh Room. Its cozy, dimly lit and full of the ambiance of an old tavern. Hanging on the wall is a shelf with a vinyl record turntable and a stack of records, most from the '60's, 70's and 80's. Feel free to enjoy the room and "spin a platter" as you have a glass of wine.
Located in our pavilion, beside the tasting room, is "Suki's Tiki wine Bar". Open select Saturdays from 11 to 5 Suki's offers wine by the glass and bottle, sangria and absolutely delicious wine cocktails. Enjoy sitting in the pavilion with a cool breeze blowing and satellite music playing. Note: The pavilion is open every day the winery is open. The Tiki bar is open select Saturdays only.
Several times a year we will have a guest Chef prepare a flighted wine dinner. We work with them to ensure each course pairs perfectly to a Chateau MerrillAnne wine. Typically, we will have these dinners "Al Fresco" in our pavilion. An incredible menu and Chateau MerrillAnne's wine make for an incredible meal. These events are by reservation only.
One of just a few public, regulation sized courts in Virginia, it is free to play. Bocce is the worlds most popular yard game and a game anyone can play. It is quite sociable by nature but can be as competitive and strategic as the players want. Learning the game literally takes two minutes, we will explain and demonstrate the game and you will be playing like a pro in no time!
We offer various discussion groups at Chateau MerrillAnne. Topics range from "Wine 101, an intro to wine" to "An introduction to Beekeeping". Do you have a subject you would be interested in? If so let us know.
Nothing is more relaxing than reading a book and drinking wine. Bring one of your own books, or pick up one of ours. Get a glass of wine, find a relaxing seat in the tasting room, on the deck or in the meadow and enjoy your day.
