Stop #1 Chateau MerrillAnne
Plan to arrive about noon. The coziness of this converted barn tasting room hides the incredible success and popularity of the wines you will taste. Opt for the "At the bar tasting" where you will try 8 wines, get a great description of each, learn the history of the winery and receive a stemware log tasting glass as a souvenir of your visit. Stop #2 Lake Anna State Park
Just 18 minutes from Chateau MerrillAnne is Lake Anne State Park. There you have water activities, hiking and biking, nature programs and at the Visitor Center you can learn about local gold mining history, take a tour of the Goodwin Gold Mine or try panning for gold!

Just 14 minutes from Lake Anna State park is Callie Opies....an incredible, American cuisine restaurant. The warm, intimate feel make it the perfect place to wrap up your relaxing daytrip.
